Liver. Questions, Answers and Results

What does the liver do? The liver regulates most chemical levels in the blood and excretes a product called bile. This helps carry away waste products from the liver.

As a Lupus patient, bloodwork and exams are taken every six months. As a new patient, monthly tests will be scheduled until a stable pattern in bloodwork and physical aliments is achieved. Stable patterns don't last for very long. Lupies, There is always something happening mentally or physically. During the holiday season, I completed bloodwork, X-ray and an Ultrasound of the abdominal area. I was having sharp pains and swelling under my breastbone area for various weeks...recurring pain in this magical Hallmark season...bammmmmmmm...NAFLD.

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is an umbrella term for a range of liver conditions affecting people who drink little to no alcohol. Dang who knew? Let's raise a glass...Liver disease calls for a drink! As the name implies, the main characteristic of NAFLD is too much fat stored in liver cells. What advise does the doctor give me...take a guess...lose weight...Lose Weight...LOSE WEIGHT. After having a minor breakdown on my bedroom floor which consisted of a lot of tears while I laid on Chica's backside. I have to believe that I can slow this chronic disease with more "lifestyle" modifications? Lupus will continue to attack every damn cell, muscle, every organ. My mind has to believe. I don't know what my prime health me will feel like. Eye of the Tiger - Rocky.
