Digestive Issues

For a couple of months now, I have been having digestive issues. This is a recurring topic. Not a pleasant one but a topic worthy to share. When this happens, I complete what my endocrinologist calls an Elimination Diet. An endocrinologist diagnoses and treats hormone imbalances and other problems with your body's endocrine glands. Endocrine glands include the thyroid, parathyroid, pancreas, ovaries or testicles, hypothalamus, pituitary, and adrenal glands.

The truth is, only your body can decide what it needs to run optimally. It’s hard to know which foods are good for you and which are doing harm. I have subscribed to SlimFast, Nutrisystem, Weight Watchers...its been a mirage of diet systems. Why? I did not understand why my metabolism was so slow. I was tired and feeling heavy. My exercise routine at that time, included Crossfit/Aerobics/Running, so I was moving. The only time I successfully lost a noticeable amount of weight was on a starvation diet. I do not recommend this diet. There was no calorie intake so the body ate its own fat. Of course, bring back the food, add the medication...underwear is shrinking...hey, it is getting tighter! As a Lupie, my flareups were worse as I was gaining the weight back. Joint pains, swelling, inflammation...guess what the doctors would say...lose weight. Ugh! Here I am...trying to figure out how to continue eating without pain and poop issues. I was looking for a thicker type of smoothie that is cost effective and would not leave me hungry or nauseous. Noka Superfood Smoothie is my current go to. It comes in a variety of quite delicious flavors Blueberry/Beet, Blackberry/Vanilla, Sweetpotato/Goji, Cherry/Acai. I am still moving. I am here. Lupies, blame can not be placed on our body. Yes, there is so much faulty wiring in this house but the body is fighting. As we are resting, as we are creating, as we are living. Here I am.
